Best websites for iPhone

iPhone is doing an enormous job of displaying any web site with its Safari web browser and high-resolution display. With the painless touch controls on the iPhone, steering just about any website is a fly.

Yet, websites building up specifically for the iPhone are best possible because they utilize the screen to the fullest extent, and use a lesser amount of bandwidth (which if you’re on EDGE much, is an obligation).

These are my five star ten iPhone optimized websites. These are in my bookmarks and get visited on a daily basis.

1. Facebook - http://iphone.facebook.com/

Most likely the greatest iPhone optimized website. I have seen Facebook has nearly all of the features of the usual website, reduced down and bandwidth-optimized. It’s effortless to navigate and has me using Facebook almost entirely over that “other” site.

2. Digg - http://www.digg.com/iphone/

It is Digg on your iPhone. It’s fast and painless to browse. I usually check this site twice a day to see what’s fresh.

3. Amazon.com - http://www.amazon.com/

I just found out Amazon this last week. I was in Apple Store and wanted to check the price of something, so I entered Amazon.com with my iPhone. It was great surprise; they had an iPhone optimized edition! It doesn’t have the polished design of other iPhone sites, but is 100% useful and loads quick, which is what I want when I’m standing in a store and need to check the prices.

4. eBay - http://iphone.ebay.com/

Later I checked Amazon; I decided to check for eBay. They too have an iPhone optimized site, and it’s fast! It doesn’t fill photos by default, so you get about instant search results, and can simply load any photos you desire by clicking the “Picture” tab.

5. Google - http://google.com/

Another great website for iPhone is Google Mobile, even if it was designed long before the iPhone was released. It loads fast and fills the screen. Just go to google.com and click “mobile” as a replacement for of “classic.”

6. TaDa List - http://tadalist.com/

One main mistake in the iPhone is the lack of a todo list software package. TaDa list is a speedy, trouble-free to-do list that I’ve used many times before. I switched to the more robust Backpack, but use TaDa List while on my iPhone for jotting down quick lists.

7. Leaflets - http://www.getleaflets.com/

For finding iPhone configured content and websites Leaflets is a great source. From sports to games to weather, you can find it on an interface very similar to the iPhone’s original applications.

8. Yahoo Search (configure in preferences)

Usually iPhone comes setup for Google by default, but I find the Yahoo! search improved formatted for my iPhone. The outcomes are similar in most cases, so I use the Yahoo! search.

9. GoMovies - http://webologistdesign.com/gomovies/demo/

Find out movie times and theater information properly formatted and fast. I’ve visited numerous theaters company websites looking for show times, and while it’s not a trouble, the image-heavy sites are sluggish to load. I much rather this optimized site that loads in a portion of the time.

10. Your WordPress blog! - http://iwphone.contentrobot.com/

Yep it’s true; you can have an iPhone optimized blog with no effort on your part (other than uploading a plug-in and theme). I have tested it with my personal blog and is no sweat. Just upload the plug-in and theme, turn the plug-in on and your WordPress blog is optimized for the iPhone. Guests coming from the iPhone will get the optimized edition.
